Transfer Credit Equivalencies

The University of New Haven is committed to making the transfer process as clear and seamless as possible. We offer an easy way for prospective students to explore how previously earned credits may apply toward a degree program. Please note that while the information provided is a helpful guide, all transfer credit evaluations are considered official only after a student has been accepted and a formal review has been completed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

The University of New Haven accepts transfer credit for college-level coursework completed at regionally accredited institutions, including courses and schools not specifically listed, in accordance with university transfer policies. Transfer credit awarded is dependent on a student's intended academic program, as course requirements vary by major.

Transfer Students

We encourage you to visit our admissions website to review undergraduate requirements and submit your application. Our Program Worksheets are also a valuable resource for understanding how transfer credits may fit into your intended program of study.

If you are interested in transferring to the University of New Haven, visit our transfer page to learn more about what we have to offer!

* An official transfer credit evaluation can only be completed after an application for admission has been submitted and reviewed.

High School Students

New first-year students will receive their transfer credit evaluation over the summer prior to starting classes. Students are required to request and submit all AP/IB scores and official college transcripts for transfer credit to be evaluated. Credits cannot be awarded based on high school transcripts. Students interested in learning how AP or IB courses may transfer can consult our AP/IB equivalencies page for more details.

Our Program Worksheets are also a valuable resource for understanding how transfer credits may fit into your intended program of study.
